Eve...Yes, I also have this experience on occasion. Even very progressive and liberal Christians. I once had a Leftist Christian activist ask why I had a Mephistopheles look, and asked "Aren't Goths Satanists." Really took me back. the activist was nice enough but she never really warmed to my alt fashion sense and beard trimming.<br /><br />I tend to forget this since Christians circles I have been in are somewhat use to the idea of alt fashion and a few of the circles are full of Christians who are punk, goth, tattooed and pierced etc.<br /><br />I tend to in my everyday dress I suppose "dress down" and really only go all out for parties or going to a club.<br /><br />Curious, what from this post elicited this comment? I dress Gothic, but often dress down as to not become a magnet for verbal abuse or even the chance of physical conflict.
