The Community of the Holy Trinity

As some of you most likely know I am also prior of an intentional community, The Community of the Holy Trinity. We have a property sharing agreement with Immanuel Lutheran church for living in their parsonage, AKA the 'Nidge. Yesterday, we had an open house for the members of Immanuel. It went well. I also wrote up a brief description of our community life, I have posted it on communities blog.. We had a very good turn out for the open house, and it was a good time. The members of Immanuel really appreciated our opening the place up to them and seemed to enjoy seeing how we live in the space and getting to know the community a little better.

  1. Much like tertiaries (in orders of friars), oblates (older, in orders of monks) or, as they're often called in Anglican religious orders, associates only freestanding not attached to a group of monks or friars. Cool.

Is Pastor Senn still at Immanuel? Heard him speak once on pre-modern (us Catholics), modern and post-modern religion. Slightly know his son, a church organist.

    Go with God.

  2. Thanks Young Fogey,
Yes, I suppose kinda like that.
Pastor Senn is not here any longer, and is not one of the pastors talked about by members here. Do you know when he served at Immanuel Lutheran Chicago? I had not known that Immanuel had a pastor with the same name as the person for whom the local high school next door is named.
