Delirium Blue
Bellow is a video of the band Delirium Blue that played gigs around the LA area now and again in the early to mid 1990's. The lead singer is my friend from The Society, Alex Makarczyk. His brother Jamie, played base, Neal Vorndran, drummer, both of whom were also in the Christian Punk band AOTC. Also Chuck Rodriguez, guitar. Bill Sammons also played guitar for the band at times. If I am remembering correctly Delirium Blue was approached by Tooth & Nail Records to sign a record deal just as it started up. Chuck didn't want to sign with a Christian label. This is a little taste of my life in the early 90's in LA. Jamie made the video. Enjoy

Just a Footnote: Delirium Blue 1986-2002 R.I.P.
ReplyDeleteAnother guitarist was Brian Doidge (Idle Lovelle-LSU-BBB- Aunt Betty's)Bill Sammons was another from (We the Living). The Main Guitarist was Chuck Rodrequez.
The Signing of the Band would have been with Mike Knott's Blonde Vinyl-not Tooth and Nail which came later. by A. Makarczyk
Thanks for the clarifications, Alex. Not having been in the band my memory is a bit fuzzy on the details. I wrote another post on Tooth & Nail and Delirium Blue and Mike Knott and realized that I had gotten Blond Vinyl and the early days of Tooth and Nail mixed up as I did a little research. The confusion was explained by the fact that Mike Knott did produce and sign some band with Tooth and Nail as it started up. You see I had placed in my memory your being approached by Mike Knott in 1993/94 when Blond Vinyl was closing and when Tooth and Nail was starting up.
ReplyDeleteI had completely forgotten that Brian Doidge also played with Delirium Blue.
If you come back here perhaps you can remember when you were approached to be signed with Blond Vinyl.
Oh and I didn't realize Delirium Blue was still extant after I left LA in 1998. What finally brought an end to the Band? Did you guys play many gigs in those last four years?
ReplyDeleteAlso, forget that the band was already formed by the time I met you and the Society in 1998.
What ended Delirium Blue was conflicts between Neal and Chuck. Once we let Neal go-we couldn'd find a Drummer that fit the Band. We Still did music for years after-only recordings -No live shows. We do have one CD and it includes some later music. Your date on the Society was 1988 not 1998 right?...
ReplyDeleteThe year Blonde V. wanted us (and Mike was very passionate about the Band- He thought we were way cool) was Beg. 1993. AM
Alex,
ReplyDeleterealized that I had not responded to your last comment on this.
I have the one CD listen to it non and then love the CD.
Yes, my date for joining the Society would be 1988.
I see so I had remembered correctly that it was 1993, so just (several months) before Blond V. went under. Explains why I got which label Mike had tried to get you signed with.
Thanks for setting the history straight here.
